BATHROOM RENOVATIONS MELBOURNE
Bathroom renovations planned properly before construction begins.
Full bathroom renovations for established Melbourne homes - planned around the layout, hidden building work, trade sequence and finishes, not just the tiles and tapware.
Bluestone is best suited to serious bathroom projects and bathrooms completed as part of a kitchen-led or multi-room renovation.
SMALL ROOM. SERIOUS COORDINATION.
A bathroom quote can look complete while leaving major parts of the renovation unclear.
Bathrooms concentrate a surprising number of trades and technical decisions into a few square metres.
A showroom or supplier quote might cover the vanity, fixtures or tiles. It may not cover everything required to turn the existing room into a finished bathroom.
A complete renovation can involve:
Site protection, demolition and waste removal
Plumbing and electrical work
Framing, flooring and substrate repairs
Falls, drainage and waterproofing
Plastering, tiling and painting
Cabinetry, benchtops and shower glass
Fixtures, lighting, ventilation and accessories
Trade coordination, sequencing and final detailing
These are not optional details. They are the work that turns selected products into a finished room.
Bluestone works through the whole scope before construction begins, so the plan reflects the actual renovation — not an incomplete shopping list.
Plan the bathroom with the rooms around it.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Bathrooms are often treated as isolated projects. In reality, they can share plumbing, electrical work, cabinetry, flooring, finishes and construction sequencing with the kitchen, laundry and surrounding rooms.
When connected spaces are planned together, you can make better decisions about:
Which work should happen at the same time
Where finishes should remain consistent
How trades move through the home
Which costs are shared and which are room-specific
How to avoid reopening finished areas later
This is why Bluestone’s strongest fit is a kitchen-led or multi-room renovation, particularly where a bathroom, ensuite, laundry or powder room forms part of the same project.
Standalone full bathroom renovations may still be considered where the scope, location and timing are a good fit.
More than colours and finishes.
WHAT GETS RESOLVED
-
The position of the shower, bath, vanity, toilet, doors and storage — including the clearances needed for the room to work comfortably.
-
Plumbing routes, electrical requirements, ventilation, floor levels, wall conditions, substrate preparation and waterproofing.
-
Tiles, grout, cabinetry, benchtops, tapware, fixtures, shower glass, lighting and accessories — with allowances that reflect what you actually want.
-
What stays, what moves, what gets demolished and what needs to be rebuilt — aligned with a realistic budget before a construction quote is prepared.
-
The correct order for demolition, rough-ins, repairs, waterproofing, tiling, installation and finishing.
The visible finish is only as good as the work behind it.
ONE MANAGED PROCESS
Depending on the project, Bluestone can coordinate:
Design and layout direction
Demolition and site protection
Carpentry and substrate repairs
Licensed plumbing and electrical work
Waterproofing
Wall and floor tiling
Custom vanity cabinetry and benchtops
Tapware, fixtures and accessories
Shower screens and mirrors
Plastering, painting and final detailing
The exact inclusions are documented for your project before the construction quote is finalised.

Frequently asked questions
GOOD TO KNOW
-
Sometimes. Bluestone’s strongest fit is a serious full bathroom renovation or a bathroom completed alongside a kitchen, laundry or broader internal renovation. Standalone projects are considered based on the scope, suburb and timing.
-
Room size alone does not determine the total cost. Layout changes, existing conditions, plumbing and electrical work, tile coverage, cabinetry, fixture quality, access and hidden repairs can materially change the budget.
Send your project details first. If the project is suitable, the Renovation Plan establishes a realistic budget direction based on the work you actually want completed.
-
Once the scope has been resolved, the construction quote clearly identifies what Bluestone is supplying and managing. We do not present the cost of a vanity, fixture package or cabinetry order as though it represents the completed renovation.
-
Yes. The planning process considers layout, storage, tiles, cabinetry, benchtops, tapware, fixtures, lighting and the way the bathroom connects visually and practically with the rest of the home.
-
Often, particularly if another functioning bathroom remains available. Access, dust, noise, water interruptions and the rest of the renovation scope still need to be considered before deciding.
-
Bluestone primarily works across Melbourne’s north-east, inner north and east, including Ivanhoe, Heidelberg, Rosanna, Viewbank, Macleod, Greensborough, Montmorency, Eltham, Preston, Reservoir, Thornbury, Northcote, Coburg and surrounding suburbs.
Selected projects elsewhere may be considered where the scope is a strong fit.
